The Story of Clapham’s Beeswax Products

Clapham’s Beeswax is an outgrowth of a 200 hive commercial beekeeping operation which Roger and Anne Clapham ran from their farm near Aldergrove in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia from 1972 until 1998. In 1984 Roger’s mother Veronica was visiting from England, and suggested turning the surplus beeswax into furniture polish.

Clapham’s Beeswax Furniture Polish was launched at the Seattle Gift Show in July 1986, and Roger continued  promoting the product by cold-calling throughout the Pacific Northwest and California with his VW Golf and liquor store boxes of polish piled in the back.

Today, Clapham’s Beeswax is based on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia and produces a variety of beeswax products – including our best-selling Salad Bowl Finish, a cult favourite across the Pacific Northwest and beyond! Roger and Anne continue to own and operate the business, and pride themselves as being “People who live proper lives, run proper businesses, and enjoy themselves along the way.”
