Winter Citrus Mineral Toothpaste

Ingredients:

Calcium Carbonate: One of the most abundant minerals on Earth, calcium carbonate acts as a gentle yet effective abrasive which forms the base structure of our toothpaste. It has been known to remove surface plaque and stains, while protecting gum tissue.

Colloidal Silver: We are proud to use Vancouver Island-made colloidal silver in our products. This wonderful, underrated liquid is naturally anti-microbial, and destroys unwanted bacteria in the mouth. It has been proven effective against periodontitis (gum disease) and can help speed the healing of canker sores. Silver also acts as a natural preservative to help extend the shelf-life of your oral health care products, without any chemicals entering your home or body!

Castile Soap (Sapo castilliensis): We are proud to use locally-produced castile soap made from olive, coconut, and hemp oils, which creates the foaming sensation so many of us are accustomed to in our toothpaste! Castile soap kills oral bacteria and is gentle on both the body and planet by being 100% biodegradable.

Xylitol: Naturally derived from the bark of birch trees, xylitol helps to balance out the flavours in our toothpastes while reducing the risk of dental caries (cavities), neutralizing the pH of saliva, preventing further enamel destruction, and over time has even been shown to reverse tooth decay.

Bentonite Clay (Montmorillonite): This ancient clay has been around longer than we have, and is naturally formed from volcanic ash. It has been known as ‘the clay of 1000 uses’, but is found in our toothpaste for its re-mineralizing and detoxifying properties. Bentonite clay helps alkalanize the pH in the mouth, and releases calcium when mixed with saliva. These properties help repair damaged enamel and prevent cavities. 

Magnesium Hydroxide: A natural mineral which prevents erosion of tooth enamel while neutralizing acid in the mouth. Studies have also shown magnesium hydroxide to be effective at reducing the depth of caries lesions (cavities).

L-Arginine: A positively-charged amino acid which, when coupled with calcium carbonate, prevents dental erosion and strengthens enamel. Arginine has been shown to help calcium attach to the tooth surface, preventing cavities and alleviating dentin hypersensitivity.

Himalayan Sea Salt: This beautiful, minimally-processed salt is gathered in the Himalayas and acts as a anti-bacterial agent to remove plaque and tartar buildup from your teeth. Himalayan salt naturally contains trace minerals (the pink color is actually created from the many trace minerals it contains), which helps to remineralize tooth enamel.

Sweet Orange EO (Citrus sinensis)*: Thanks to its anti-microbial properties, sweet orange oil banishes bad bacteria from the mouth, gently removes plaque from the teeth and gums, and keeps the breath fresh. It also is fantastic at whitening the teeth without negatively affecting tooth enamel!

Wintergreen EO (Gaultheria fragrantissima)*: Our organic wintergreen essential oil helps to reduce plaque build-up while preventing gingivitis and tooth decay. It protects and soothes the teeth and gums by controlling pain and eliminating bacterial growth within the oral cavity.

Cinnamon EO (Cinnamomum zeylanicum)*: Our organic cinnamon essential oil is naturally antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic. Cinnamon oil also contains one of the greatest antimicrobial properties that protect against bacteria responsible for tooth decay.
