King among the birds that hunt for fish is the little Kingfisher, and I’ve tried to capture that in this laser etching of the Kingfisher rising from the water with a freshly caught fish in its long, slender bill. The incredible, shimmering curly birch board captures the essence of the water.
First Nation peoples of the Canadian Northwest hold that Kingfishers represent the promise of abundance, warmth, prosperity, and love.
