About Shower Steamers
Think of a bath bomb, but for your shower! Unlike bath bombs, which dissolve in your tub, shower steamers release their potent aromatherapy when placed on your shower floor. As water activates the steamer, it fizzes and releases a concentrated burst of essential oils. Because of this high concentration, shower steamers are designed for shower use only and should not be used in the bath.
How to Use Your Shower Steamer
For the best experience:
-
Run hot water with the door closed (and the fan off!) to create a steamy environment.
-
Before entering the shower, allow a few drops of water to hit the top of the steamer to activate it. You’ll see it begin to fizz.
-
Place the steamer on the shower floor, away from the direct stream of water, but where it will still get wet (many people like placing it between their feet).
For a stronger aroma and less mess, you can also hang the steamer at eye level using a small mesh or organza bag. This keeps the steamer closer to your nose and prevents any undissolved portion from going to waste.
If your steamer doesn’t fully dissolve during your shower, simply save the remainder for your next use! While it may not look as pristine, it will still provide an aromatic experience. The drawstring bag method is particularly useful for saving leftover steamers.
