This stunning example of Indigenous beadwork took me over 30 hours to complete.  The beads are all tiny 11/0 glass seed beads in shades of pearl white, grass green, neon green, gold and 3 different shades of pink.  The focal is a carved buffalo bone featuring a lovely, wise woman’s face surrounded by flowers.  She represents Mother Earth, Gaia, or alternatively, a Forest Goddess depending on your spiritual world view.  The medallion itself is oval in shape and measures 3 inches by 2.5 inches.

The backing is tanned deer hide and I have edged it in genuine freshwater pearls.  The Necklace section is 20 inches long and is made up of genuine buffalo bone hairpipe, Rose Quartz gemstone beads and Swarovski Crystals.  The clasp is a gold plated lobster claw clasp for easy on/off.
